Speakers and Syllabus 

As a part of ATM Schools held under NCM, we propose to hold Workshop on Differential Geometry at Department of Mathematics, University of Pune, during 4th August to 9th August 2014. The target audience for this conference are research scholars, from any of the Research Institutions or Universities, who have some background in Differential Geometry. There will be four and half hours of lectures and 1 hour of discussion every day (Monday to Saturday).

  1. K. Sandeep (TIFR-CAM, Bangalore) (KSan) - Elliptic and Parabolic Diff. Equations - 4 lectures.
  2. Harish Seshadri (IISc, Bangalore) (HS) - Ricci Flow - 4 lectures.
  3. Atreyee Bhattacharya (IISc, Bangalore) (AB) - Recent Applications of Ricci Flow - 4 lectures.
  4. C. S. Aravinda (TIFR-CAM, Bangalore) (CSArav) - Ricci Flow and Negative Curvature - 3 lectures.
  5. Ravi Kulkarni (BP) (RK) - Basic Riemannian Geometry/Overview - 3 lectures.

The lectures will be of one and a half hours duration.

Note: Your stay arrangements are done in the Guest House of University of Pune. Each room has two occupancies, non-AC and attached bathroom. If you need special arrangement of stay then convey the coordinators accordingly, in which case you will have to pay the required charges for the same. If your plan of attending the workshop is cancelled then convey us immediately. Also convey your travel plan as and when it is ready.

 

How to reach

How to reach University of Pune

University of Pune is on the University Road, and it is about 5 km from the Main Railway Station and Main Bus stand.
The nearest Railway Station is Shivajinagar Railway Station (3km) and it is most convenient while coming from Mumbai side, but one should make sure that the train stops there. The  autorickshaw fare is about 10 times the meter reading.

From airport the University is about 16 km.

When one enters the university there are 2 roads, take the right road to go to Mathematics Dept. or to University Guest House/ Univ. SET Guest House. Dept. of Math. comes first on this road on the left side, and it is a building  with Green Colour Fence. To go to SET Guest House, one goes ahead and at the end turns to the left, to go near main Guest House. The main Guest House is very near the main building (with Flag) and is next to VC Bungalow and from the main Guest House, a road goes to IUCAA. The SET Guest House is located on this road about 150 meters from main Guest House on the right side.
