Speakers and Syllabus 

Abstracts of the lectures:

1. Prof. Ghorpade will introduce the notion of differentiability of a vector valued function of several real variables and give a geometric significance of the notion. The     sufficient condition for differentiability and examples of differentiable functions will be discussed.
2. Prof. Acharya will speak on Mean Value Theorem, Taylor’s Theorem and extreme values of real valued functions of several variables.
3. Prof. Sholapurkar will speak on the Inverse Function Theorem and its applications.
4. Prof. Bhate will speak on Implicit Function Theorem.
5. Prof. Nitsure will deliver a special lecture on Vector Calculus. He will explain the notions in vector calculus in geometric terms and relate them to the ideas in Physics.
